From what I'm hearing over the scanner, sounds like it's near US 60 North, the opposite side of the road from last years fire, some @$$hole tossed a cig butt out the window!!!!!

I wish you luck Dennis.

Absolutely, Joshua... hopefully people aren't as stupid as that individual who threw the cigarette butt out their window.

Not again! Hot and Smoldering cig butts can start fires! I think people should take a lesson from Smokey the Bear!

The fire is now at 10 acres, went from 0 to 10 in 15 minutes, that's how flippin dry it is again. From the last report I heard, I've got the forest service band on my scanner, they've got a decent handle on it, with the winds dying down tonight, let's hope they get a line dug around it before morning, another day of 40-50 MPH winds in the forecast.

Josh, NO....we DON'T want a repeat of last year, that 10 days we were evac'd was the LONGEST ten days of my life, didn't know if we had a new house to return to or not!

As of 0600 MST, it's 85% contained, 2 Type II Hot Shot Teams worked thru the night, they have a line dug on the N and NE flank of the fire which leads upslope, this should do the trick! "AMEN!"

This is the 2nd fire for us in less than a week, looks like a LOOOOONG summer season, let's hope the monsoons kick in early this year!
