All time severe weather outbreak
What was the all-time severe weather outbreak? How many reports of severe weather where there? When was this outbreak? I am just asking this because with the chance of severe weather going until this weekend, can this current outbreak match that or break it? Just curious. Thanks for the answers.

Don't know if we'll ever see another outbreak in our lifetime like the Super Outbreak of April 3-4, 1974. Hope not anyway. Total of 148 tornadoes in 13 states. More details on this link: http://www.publicaffairs.noaa.gov/storms/

I think the Superoutbreak is still No. 1 as well in total reports (likely because in addition of the tornadoes, how about the hail and wind reports which also had occurred during this.
Last November's Outbreak, I believe had 92 tornadoes.
For the record, this May (from 1st through the 7th) has had more tornadoes than of May 2002 ... already 213 tornadoes, not including today's 37 so far (and will likely go up before midnight) and May 2002 featured 202 tornadoes.
Just an incredible month so far.
