How did you find us??

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

>>I was posting over at hurricanecity for a while and kept hearing from jimw, greatone, et al. of how HORRIBLE Storm2K was.

I remember that. One of the knocks was that you'd fit in fine if you were into moving cartoon character avatars. Heh.

But they did have a legitimate criticism back then. There was a lot of affirmations of other posters to the point that it was kind of ridiculous. In other words, some of what was said didn't need to be echoed in the same thread by 10 different people (often mods). Obviously with the influx of dozens (if not hundreds) of new posters, that has become far less frequent around here. Unfortunately my home board succumbed to that very same problem. They added 5 or 6 mods (mostly good guys). But whenever a pro met like Dunham would post something, you'd get a chain of people telling him how great his forecast or words were even though they were yet to verify. I found that annoying here back then and there now. The worst offender there (who I will not name) would post "Thanks Ed. You said it better than I could" type of stuff.

No big deal I guess, just a personal pet peeve.

Stormfury used to post over at TWC boards. He was extremely well-informed, tried to educate newbs such as me, and he had either posted a link to s2k in a message or it was in his sig. I checked out the board and was super impressed by the well-informed posters here.

I googled weather message boards, and this came up, and I was very impressed. I think it was back November 2003.

PBI. It wasn't possible to find a civilized intelligent discussion there anymore. I wondered where all the people I had gotten used to seeing and appreciating had gone (I'm a 98% lurker, 2% poster). Then someone in a discussion about the board going downhill posted about this board. I followed the link, and here I am.

Well, I used to be on GoPBI (then Storm2000, 99, 98, 97...), but I started lurking here after GoPBI decided to be cute and upgrade their website.

No. I'm not MsPrissy. I just remember MsPrissy from Storm97. She loved hurricane watching as much as anyone. I've lost touch with her & was hoping to maybe see her on the boards. I mainly lurked in the other boards, but I definitely remember all of your names.

I had seen other people on other weather boards talk about it(who were members here, notably Stormsfury), and so one night about 11pm I did a search and found this board, and I've been here ever since.

I officially registered in mid-November 2003, but I lurked here a couple months before as a guest.

I found this site through The Weather Channel Message Boards.

I found you last year through the links page on the Independent Weather Information Center, I did notice that the link is missing this year.

I came here in January 2004... when there was a "tussle" between "the other board" and here. I think I clicked Lindaloo's link and got here. I registered cause it looked interesting... and it most certainly is!

I go way back to the old board, in the days when it would freeze up when you post, and I used a different member name I beleive it was Dr Hurricane or something to that effect. The board has come a long ways and is much better. I originally found this board via Lowes.
