Don't be surprised if a piece of this sucker ends up breaking through that trof zone and poses a threat to someone in the future. A lot of people (and especially pro mets around the web) didn't give the energy that coalesced (sp?) into Cindy any chance either, but we got a pretty strong tropical storm out of it. I looked at the 18z GFS earlier and all it did was take the energy north and looped it out. One of the things I learned from Bastardi over the years when his column was available was that analogy of a running back breaking through an 8 man front. If he got swarmed, it was a no gain. If he made it into the defensive backfield, there was a chance for him to score. So I don't give up on anything until it's over and done with.
In 99L's case (at least as per WV), it looks like a 10 man front with chances of something emerging and developing slim and none. But there's still the possibility IMHO.
