Harry Potter fans!!!!

#1 Postby OklahomaWeather » Sat Jul 16, 2005 9:34 am

Let's not post any spoilers here... Give everyone a chance to read Half Blood Prince!! (OOPS! Thanks for correcting me, I dont know what I was thinking, I was too excited. LOL)

I just want to see who has the book yet? I do, I do!
Who waited in line at midnight to get it? Anyone?

I had to get up this morning at 5 am to go to work, so midnight was going to be waaay too late for me. But my wonderful husband went out at midnight to get it for me! It's sitting right next to me right now at my desk, just calling me! I can't wait until my lunch break to start reading it!

Did anyone stay up all night reading? Is anyone done yet?!

That would be Half Blood Prince wouldn't it?

My 3 daughters are reading it now. A friend bought them each their own copy so there would be no one waiting and feeling left out. ( except mom  ) I have to wait til one of them finishes. The oldest will be done before bedtime. I can't wait!

Same here!! :D :D I LOVE the Harry Potter series and the movies too.

I just have to buy the book first though and that'll be quite the chore since I didn't put my name down on any list and I'm sure that they will be all sold out by the time I get there.

One thing that worries me is that I think HBP will be very dark and see lots of betrayal.

BTW, the HBP has got to be Neville Longbottom. The prophecy at the end of the OOTP about Neville and Harry being linked kind of foreshadows that I think, but I could be wrong.

And, yes, definitely, no spoilers here please:)

It was a stormy night here in North Texas, but that didn't stop any of the die-hard Harry Potter fans from getting the latest Half-Blood Prince book.

My family would go, but we have to wait 'till next week to get it when all the lines disperse.

Oh jeez, I was at Barnes and Nobel at Westheimer and Highway 6 [for those that live in Houston] ... It was PACKED following 8:00 or so... I stayed until 10:00, as my main reason to be there wasn't to get the book. But wow... All sorts of kids dressed up and everything!

Even the lady at Starbucks had huge glasses on!

Picked up ours last night at midnight--but hubby got to it first! He is reading it now...

Borders in Hyannis, MA (Cape Cod) had its usual midnight madness. It was a little better organized this year... I'd guess about 300 people showed up to pick up their books...

Fewer costumes than for past books. On the other hand, Borders had some nice "activities" for younger kids... (and older folks who are in their second childhood--like me).

For the second book, my husband's then 97 year old aunt went to the midnight book pick-up with me and had a wonderful time! They put the temporary tattoos on her and everything...

My 25-year-old daughter picked her copy up at midnight at the local Border's Book Store. As of 5 p.m. today, she was about half-way through; I'm hoping to borrow her finished copy before I leave for Chicago this Wednesday! :P

My sis-in-law pre-ordered it for me for my birthday via Amazon and sure enough it came in the mail yesterday. I'm having a hard time getting into it because of some distractions around the house (and I've lost track of what happened at the end of HP & The Order of the Phoenix).

Maybe if S2K went down I could get more involved with the book, hahaha.

I got it. Couldn't read it yesterday because we had company. :x But I am getting ready to go out to my Florida room and shut out the outside world. My husband is under strict orders to leave me alone. :) I will not put it down till I am done.

Whew! I'm taking a little break from the book, I'm on page 251. It's so good! And I can only imagine what is to come...

I just wish I had someone to discuss everything with! I have some friends reading it right now too, (or possibly even finished) but no one is answering their phones! :grr:

Can't wait to finish, hopefully/probably by tonight.

She isn't even starting it before the end of the year, I heard it should be about 2 years til the 7th one comes out.

I found the 4th book left my head spinning the most so far. As soon as I finished that one I knew I had to reread it again right away to truly comprehend everything that had happened. This one was very good, but in my opinion didn't have the same kind of twists that the 4th one did.

This one had alot of info in it. I am going to wait a month or so and read it again. I think it might be getting us ready for the last one.

Just finished it and...two years until the next one? That's an eternity.
