As Emily approaches the Yucatan, the NHC says something like this:

REPORTS FROM AN AIR FORCE RESERVE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT INDICATE THAT THEY ARE OUT OF DROPSONDES. FORTUNATELY, GERALDO RIVERA WAS EMBEDDED WITH THIS PARTICULAR RECON FLIGHT AND THE HURRICANE HUNTERS GAVE HIM A WALKIE TALKIE
AND TOSSED HIM OUT OF THE PLANE. GERALDO REPORTS THAT
"IT'S PRETTY ROUGH DOWN HERE. THIS IS LIKE NOTHING I'VE SEEN".

WITH THAT REPORT THE CENTRAL PRESSURE OF EMILY HAS FALLEN TO 920 MB AND THAT MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE INCREASED TO 165 MPH.
