Is This Irresponsible of NOAA?

They are saying Emily will not be hitting the US coast :roll: How do they know for sure?

I've checked all around their site and can't find that. Texas is in the 3 and 5 day cones. Do you have a more specific link than the homepage?

Hmmm it's really strange that they would say that. And yes, it would be irresponsible. However, I can't find that statement either...

Maybe they wishcast like us?

[The following is a wishcast]

There was some shear reported near the Yucatan.
It is possible Emily could have gone through some eyewall replacement cycles got socked with the shear and stumbled across the thick part of the Yucatan as a weak hurricane.

That sort of happened yesterday when Derek's shear delayed Emily's reorganizing. Missed Jamaica by a wider margin because of it.

NOAA did not say this. You are putting out incorrect information and this thread should be removed.
