This had better not be a North change of course I'm seeing

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

people along the Florida Panhandle are extremly nervous concerning this storm. After what we've been through you can see the stress on everyone's face just at the mention of the word hurricane.

Many of the power-lines along hwy 98 between Navarre and Gulf Breeze are leaning inward toward the road. Another storm into this region especially one of this size may be the end of our way of lifestyle not to mention our economy as we know it.

I want my wife and little girl (who is six) to return home from Europe on the 26th of this month to just exactly that, A HOME.

Ivan was bad, Dennis stressed me out..... one more and I may move my family from this area. I may have too, it could be the end of my job as I work on one of the bases as a computer engineer.

I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I think Emily would hit Texas if any point in the US. What the forecasts are saying is the Yucatan and Northern Mexico most likely. Pray for them, if you will...

This storm is not a threat to Florida. If it becomes a threat to Florida...it will be the WORST failure of computer modeling I have ever seen. Period. No exceptions.

So...given I do no believe the computer models (and forecast rules of thumb also) could be so totally out to lunch...this storm is not a threat to Florida.

It's not that kind of north... this is Western GOM bound whether it's Mexico or Texas. Tell the ridge thank you.

Dont get complacent though, as there will be more threats this year for your area, you can take that to the bank.

just had to vent... many of us are depending on this board until this storm is safely to the west of us. We really just can't take any more in this area. I feel a little embarrassed now...

I think this "Northerly jog" talk is starting to get out of hand. It's worse for South Texas folks, not Florida.

I don't think anyone here thinks Emily is a FL storm. FFS, I took a beating suggesting it might hit Cuba!

Depend on the NHC. Use this board for supplimental educational purposes. Dial up your favorite water vapor loop. You can see the nose of the ridge creeping ever so slowly westward.

Relax.

Hey Chris dont feel bad, I feel the same way on the MS Gulf Coast. So far we have had 2 Tropical storms warnings and a Hurricane warning to contend with in under a month. It does get nervewrecking especially in your scenerio where you have been hit by T.S. Arlene and Hurricane Dennis. I think everyone is on edge on the Gulf Coast and feels the same as you do!

Florida has no concerns with Emily. However, there will be other storms soon enough for Florida to be concerned with....

I really think it is going into Mexico or South Texas. But I do know how you feel. Every time I hear the word Hurricane, Carribean, Gulf of Mexico those little goosebumps start to form.

We get nervous here in New Orleans as well. However, it is nice to be outside the "cone of uncertainty" for a change.
