Notice something wrong??? Dewpoint CANNOT be higher than the temperature.

Somebody explained once before (maybe they were wrong or joking) that supersaturation can occur in the core of hurricanes, its one of the rare times it happens.

Perhaps not though and I don't know what I'm talking about :D

I didn't even think it was possible... I know it's not in a normal world. I would seriously look into my weather equipment if it reported something like that.

Some of the reports have shown the dew point to be over 100F so I don't really trust all these obs. When you're dealing with extreme winds and sensors like this, ya gotta expect them to fail now and then. ;) I don't really trust those with dewpoints 13 degrees higher either - supersaturation doesn't really reach those levels in the Earth's atmosphere.

Right, supersaturation does occur and in those rare times, the eyewall of a hurricane would be the most likely time for it to occur. However, as PurdueWx80 said, those extreme reports of supersaturation are very suspect. It just doesn't reach that point. These onboard sensors can't always been perfect, especially the hydrometer.

Even those who have dialup get faster reports...TWC is officially TCC (The Commercial Channel) in my opinion.

Git 'em, boy, *Git* 'em!
<sounds of pit-bull tearing into human flesh, much screaming, etc.>

What's-his-face (Bob?) Warren was going on about how he "couldn't believe" (or was it "what's so amazing"? I forget already) how Emily's hurricane-force winds "only reach out fifty miles!!!" (insert even more exclamation points for emphasis). Later, he's leaning back in his chair while the lady co-anchor and him are beaming at each other just like vacuous idiots in a 50's sitcom. ...or David Letterman and Paul Schafer after a particularly bad joke falls flat.

I have a long memory: Once upon a time (in hazy mists of yore, before the One Ring was forged), they used to be reasonably decent.

I don't believe anyone could honestly give you an answer other than to wait and see what the models do. Otherwise, there would be a great deal of physics involved. We'll see on upcoming models runs what these observations mean.

As for the dewpoint... yeah. That's off. Those numbers should be around 0F.
