I recently sent some email wondering why the HURR sector's IR was so over-saturated (every thunderstorm top is uber-white) to the point of being useless, but received no response.

Agreed, but the HURR sector was easier to show the double eyewall.

You can only see the outer eyewall, if there is one forming, on radar.
