Looks like we might have an eye trying to clear out on the last visibles. That's not good for the Yucatan...

the NHC mentioned concentric eyewalls earlier today so that is at least a part of the weakening.

to be blunt

even a blindfolded chimp knows this is coming in at least as a strong cat 3.

There was an EWRC and some shear today. The shear is lessening big time as the outflow has become better defined. Dont look for much if any more weakening

Thats just in the past 7 years. And we have one significant landfall where it was actually not weakening, which was Charley.

Ivan, Frances, Jeanne, and Georges--all duds, huh? They happen to comprise 4 of the 10 costliest hurricanes in US history, with a combined 34 billion dollars in damage (not to mention the 3000 people who died during Jeanne). Maybe we should find new words to described these horrific events. Whadaya say?

http://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/damage.asp

By the way, Ivan was NOT forecast to be the "big one"...it was predicted to weaken back to a Cat 3 for days before landfall...Just because storms strengthen to Cat 5 at some point during their lives doesn't mean that they are forecast to be the "big one."

scorpion you are really beginning to to tick me off, how bout you come to pcola and tell us ivan was a "dud", im just going to pretend you are 9 years old and ignorant and havnt seen the pictures from pcola after ivan, do me and others a favor and dont say anything that is not based on something close to fact...thanks

Scorpion, don't you realize what you're doing here? You are asking to be banned.

Your comments have been so careless and so unbelieveable honestly, that it must be trolling. I don't know how else to explain it. I mean you say one thing, say you're sorry, then say something just as stupid such as calling storms like Floyd, Ivan, Dennis and others "duds". Almost every storm (if not every) storm was a MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR DISASTER!

Scorpion, please, leave this and any boards you have joined alone as long as you continue with this nonsense.

may want to quickly edit that post pcola

as for Scorpion...

if you think those storms are duds, how about dishing out the 14 billion for Ivan and the 10 billion for Dennis, 2 of the costliest storms ever. I'm sure you can cover the 24 billiion or just ask mommy for the money, little boy. It should be no problem since a dud is nothing

THANK YOU

How long is his suspension? I'd like to know how long this board has before it sinks back down into the toilet bowl.

You are like a little floater that won't go down at times, bud. You need to chill a bit.

I won't discuss the specifics but I've asked the staff to keep an eye when he returns. I will say that it will be after the second landfall. ;-)

And how about a one strike policy for the subsequent storms? ;)
