EPAC Hurricane Questions
May sound very ammaturish. But I was wondering why every or at least most storms that form in the east pacific are fish. I've seen just a few that go towards land masses such as mexico. But I was wondering why the all move in a general course of where eugene is expected to go? Thnk you in advance.

Most of the EPAC storms form south of the subtropical ridge when it is strong moves the cyclone away from land.Only a few EPAC Storms dont have that ridge strong, there is a trough nearby and then moves into the Mexican Coast.

Also, during El Nino years, Mexico is vulnerable to major hurricanes on the Pacific side.
Examples: Liza 1976, Madeline 1976, Tico 1983, Virgil 1992, Winifred 1992, Pauline 1997, and Kenna 2002.
However, it is possible for a major hurricane to hit Mexico during a non El Nino year.
Example: Hurricane Kiko 1989
