its not in a strengthening phase. Its in an adjustment phase. The land friciton is gone; thus, the wind increase (gradient wind equation doen't have friction. A hurricane is in gradient balance. Wind decreases due to friction)
2. This is still moving at 295-300, no matter what a sat illusion says. The center before was in the very southern part of the eye. Recon fixes show a march at 295-300 with no deviaton

Eye has virtually disappeared
It appears in the last few satellite frames that the eye is basically disappearing under northern convection.. seems rather strange. Tightening up?

She will have 30C waters to work with from this point forward.

Derek Ortt wrote:probably a sign of real intensification probably. Thats what Dennis did and it then formed a true eye by the descending motion, not just by bands wrappind around a center
That's definately what we've been seeing lately... Plenty of wrapping; and a HUGE *eye*, most likely signifying the fact that it wasn't formed by the "descending motion", but by the wrapping around a center of circulation.

The latest Ir out of the Nasa page shows that the deep convection is off to the west of the "eye" In which some dry air has been getting sucked into the cirualtion. We have to watch if it can get raid of it...Because there is already some pop up convection forming around the Eastern side...
