Based on your feedback, we will be modifying the windfields depicted on our maps to reflect the NHC coordinates. This change will be implemented when we launch SkeetobiteWeather.com (soon!).
The image below is the exact shape of the windfield for Emily-2005 at 11am today according to the NHC. Note that the inner ring of this rendering reflects the hurricane force wind radii and will be color coded to reflect the intensity of the hurricane at the time each map is published. The color legend is always available in the footer of our maps.
