Since there are no current activities in the Atlantic

does that mean it gives time for the SST'S in the, GOM, AND the CARIB to warm back up before the August September cane rush? I think this is the calm before the storm what do you think??

I personally don't think we are done this month! I think we will some more development with in the next week but if we don't have any more this month then yeah I do think that the rest of the hurricane season will be active it already has been! lol

Just think... if you go by Dr. Gray’s last issued forecast for this year, we have had
5 named storms, 10 left to go
2 hurricanes, 6 left to go
2 intense hurricanes, 2 left to go
I’d say during the next 12 weeks they'll be plenty left to talk about. Personally I think it will be rather quiet for a week or so, then some activity. Also I think sometime during August we'll have another lull until close to September. The water is warm and getting warmer. This will indeed be a season to remember.

I think we should have a break for 2-3 weeks... then activity will probably be nonstop starting in about a month until the end of September.

It is already definitely a season to remember!!! The question is just how outrageous of a season to remember will it be? It is already a historical season and everything points to it getting even more historical!!

I think we will have some tropical activity in the next week. Maybe not a full blown Cat3 hurricane but something. And it will be quite for about a week or two. (Just in time to get the children back in school) And then all will break lose again!

i honestly think that those numbers should be higher because if this paturn continues i think that we might get to the end of the list or at least close to it

well my forecast I posted a couple days ago calls for one more hurricane for the end of July...

here's the forecast:

7/17/05

last year is on the left, this year (so far AND my forecast) on the right:
(this is using the BIRTH dates of the storms)

6/ 1-15: 0-0-0; 1-0-0
6/ 16-30: 0-0-0; 1-0-0
7/ 1-15: 0-0-0; 3-2-2
7/ 16-31: 1-1-1; 1-1-0 (forcast on down)(lull)
8/ 1-15: 4-2-1; 3-1-1
8/ 16-31: 3-1-1; 5-3-2
9/ 1-15: 3-2-2; 4-3-2
9/ 16-30: 2-2-1; 1-1-0 (lull)
10/ 1-15: 2-0-0; 3-1-1
10/ 16-31: 0-0-0; 1-0-0
11/ 1-15: 0-0-0; 0-0-0 (lull)
11/ 16-30: 1-0-0; 1-0-0 (and could go into Dec with more)

this forecast was made solely by the current activeness, the expectency of lulls, and also using last year's figures... so not too much behind this

Looking at the water vapor we have a lot of dry air in the eastern Atlantic. Lord knows we could all use a little break :-)
