Has this Hurricane really slowed up??

yeah we were noticeing that too on the teamspeak server for NHCWX and we can't really tell but like I said there for sake of every one in the area lets hope it hasn't!

I agree, not much movement, even perhaps a slight wooble North. But then again, I'm not an official "wobble watcher"! :wink:

I agree also, all I see is a slight "drift" to the north. Always interesting to the end.

If it has not stopped it is moving very slowly. Also is it going to turn West because I don't see that. It looks like it is going more to the N and wouldn't that put it off its course. Or am I just blind? :oops:

That water vapor loop only goes to 18:15 UTC currently. The Brownsville radar is almost an hour later. Unless I'm seeing that wrong.

No it's not an illusion nor is anyone going blind,Emily has stalled or moving extremely slow.

What would cause this abrupt stall that the models didn't see? What going on with the steering curents?

Its not slowing down, its just doing one of those stupid hurricane jogs (northward this time).

I am with you, I do not see much movement at all, maybe slight wnw drift. Sitting in bath water with pressure dropping, this is not setting up to be pretty.

second time a upcoming heading change preceded by a slowing...this time it is swinging back to 300 or higher that I can see...not much more room left for additional tacking as we would say in sailing....

all on the reports with every one the speed has slowed down even more then the one before so I have to say that something IS going on but I have no clue what!

Perfect example of stairstepping....key is to look at the overall motion from beginning of frame to the end of it.....

One point to mention....if it were to hit where the NHC forecasts, it would have to turn westward and keep going westward until landfall....well see if it does.
