Will this area develop or remain a tropical wave as it moves westward.

Nothing I've seen indicates it will be anything but a tropical wave as it continues moving toward the west. The good news is that we may get some rain out of it here in So. Fla.

If it is the same area that our local news is talking about they are wondering too. I think it is the same area. Know more at 9 and 10. If they mention again then I will start to wonder.

A tropical wave over the eastern Caribbean is producing cloudiness
and showers over Hispaniola...Puerto Rico...and the Leeward
Islands. Upper-level winds are currently unfavorable for
tropical cyclone formation... but could become slightly more
favorable during the next day or two as this system moves westward
at 15 to 20 mph.

Yes, there is potential for development. Yesterday, conditions were rather hostile. Today, thunderstorms are refiring north of the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic and UL conditions are becoming more favorable. It looks like the pattern will bring it close to the east coast of Florida by the weekend....

Seems to still be undergoing quite a bit a shear, but the local AFD in Melbourne says it could approach Florida as a T-wave and then move into Gulf, according to some of the models.

Would be nice to get some rain here along the east coast of Florida, thats for sure!
