They are experiencing tropical storm winds ... http://www.krgv.com/ may have more info for you. Prayers for your family. I know times like this can be stressful, specially when you are hearing damage reports. Hopefully your family is just fine and will be in touch with you soon. Most area's still have power! That a positive note to keep in mind. The damage reports are far and few between.

The highest wind reports our local ocm's and reporters have sent back from there is sustained in the 40's and 50's and some hurricane force gusts, but no real heavy damage. There may have been a few tornados but I haven't heard of any widespread damage.

Unless there was a tornado, structures are fine. 50-60 mph gusts are no worse than a bad thunderstorm.

Brent, I don't understand you sometimes. You tend to under minimize a good majority of storms that have passed. When Dennis hit pensacola, we here in Tampa got TS winds, but you know what Brandon, which is farther east got the same thing but they received damage to structures while Tampa received minimal. So don't tell me 50-60 is nothing.

No I don't. This was a major hurricane in Northeast Mexico. What I am saying is, it's not that huge of a deal. They got very lucky to only have that. I agree, 50-60 mph gusts(GUSTS, not sustained winds), are nothing to sneeze at, but if that was all I got from this storm, I'd be very glad.
