That's what I thought when I first saw this system this morning. It's very close to south Florida, definately looks like it's developing, and heading WNW. Each new visible shots shows a system becoming increasingly wrapped up. Can't wait to see what recon will find this afternoon!

Erin 1995 went straight to a TS when Recon got into it, and almost in the same spot. I think it was already pretty potent too.

oh great another erin :grr: better not follow the same track!

Ivanhater...I totally agree on your sentiments about the track. I still don't even have my cable up and running after dennis. This season is turning out to be a nightmare, or a dream...depending on how you look at things. Here along the northern gulf coast, I think we all fall into the nightmare catagory.

I still don't see how anyone can be anything less than excited or looking for breaks if they are weather fanatics. I'm here because I want the rush and excitement. And it's not just me as SunnyThoughts got it halfway right:

I think it's a dream season (won't say what kind of dream ;) ). I'm onthe northern gulf coast and love every minute of it. We've seen more stuff this year already than we sometimes do for 3-4 seasons in a row. In an off year, any of the Gulf storms so far - Cindy, Dennis, Emily, Arlene or Bret - would be BIG NEWS if even one of them made landfall. 2005 is GREAT for storm fanatics :).

It's an exciting year but not for those who were devastated last year. I just wish the AL/FL areas could get a break but it seems they can't. We're in a 15" rainfall deficit over here, send a storm this way already!

Well, I'm not a weather "fanatic". I'm at once, fasincated and terrified by these things. I track them, but am too familiar with the devestation they bring along with them to lives, property and economies. I do not enjoy the rush of fear, and that's what I feel when the forecasts trend my way. I simply am not calm in the face of that kind of danger.

[Edited to include the following:] I *guess* I trace it back to having lived through Camille as a young child, though I was 90 miles inland. The most terrifying night of my life.

Understood. I also don't want the Baldwin/Escambia/Santa Rosa counties to take any more damage for a while because that's my favorite part of the South (besides New Orleans of course).

2002 was our year, but I'll take anything I can get.

I think they're fairly good guys. I promised Duck I wouldn't post anything political so I'm just gonna say that I usually support whoever is the president by virtue of their presidency and caveat that with the fact that since I first voted in 1984 for president, no one I have voted for has ever won the presidency. But I thought the Beavis and Bushhead photo was a riot. If it was Clinton Gore, Reagan/GHWB or GWHB/Quayle, I'd still think it was hillarious as you know what.

Slow morning at work so I grabbed this latest visible shot which clearly shows where the center of circulation is (also indicated by the red dot I added  ). This sure is a tiny system however.

The hits just keep on coming.

If we get to G by the end of July, Dr. Gray will likely go up to
20-something named storms for 2005. Unbelieveable.
