So just one hour apart they estimated surface winds to be 60, and 35kts? :?:

They are throughout different quadrants of the storm.

If they found winds of 53 knots (surface around 50 mph) in the SE Quad., then it's possible that the NE Quad. is stronger.

Banding looking much better except still a little flat on the western side. A whole lot better looking than this morning. I would expect some pressure drop here later this afternoon.

Plane has ascended to cruising altitude and is leaving the area.

The Gulfstream IV was scheduled to take off at this time for an upper air mission this afternoon.

The next recon plane is scheduled to launch at 2100Z, enter the storm at 2300Z and have a fix by 0000Z.
