Pictures of a tornadic thunderstorm in New Jersey on July 1

#1 Postby Jim Cantore » Fri Jul 22, 2005 11:39 am

At about 5:20pm some dark clouds appeared on the horizon. At 5:30 things got dark and a tornado warning was issued. A wall cloud appears and started rotating. It tried with all it's might to make a funnel but failed. The storm though dumped 2 inches of rain in 15 minutes.

Here are the pictures mind you these where taken with a 25mm camera

NOTE: I also recorded a wind gust to 39mph during this storm. This was the third thunderstorm of the day. The first 2 went no further then brief downpours.
