Hot/Dry Conditions to break Sunday?

#1 Postby PTrackerLA » Sat May 10, 2003 12:19 pm

Houston/Galveston NWS indicated 40% pops for tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have a good coverage of storms across the northern gulf coast tomorrow because I'm getting really tired of watering!

I'm getting tired of watering too. I'm ready for some rain next week.

On the bright side though, if we were going to have a long period of dry weather, it couldn't have come at a better time. We've been doing a lot of work on our house lately and rain sure would have slowed us down.

I hope we get all that 40% tomorrow - we need the rain bad. We are 4 inches behind here in the Houston area. I am having to water my garden every other day - to keep it going.

I hope there is a break in this pattern soon.

21 days till June 1st - 2003 Hurricane Season!

It's about time your dry pattern breaks. You sure could use the beginning of your wet season! :)

Hopefully the transition to seeing daily afternoon showers and thunderstorms isn't too far away. It always seems as though the "rainy season" begins around the beginning of June.

Could use some much-needed rain here, too...seems elsewhere in NC has had rain in the last few days but has "dodged" Halifax County alot.
Only a trace here yesterday evening from a squall line that came down from VA!

Hey PTrackerLA, we need to get some rain soon! This heat is killing my yard. Then LUS has put their watering schedule into effect. I can water on Sunday, Wednesday & Friday from midnight to 2pm. Lot of good that does me when I'm sleeping & at work! But you can water your entire yard if you are holding the hose any day and any time of the week!

This is incredible---for the whole week we only have a 20% chance of thunderstorms. We are parched around here!

We got a 40 percent chance today and there is a frontal line to our north as I type this - hope is moves through. Had a high yesterday of 92 degrees - broke records.

Come on rain.

Well, we have a slight chance of rain (30%) for tonight into Tuesday as a weak cold front retreats back north as a warm front. (doesn't look promising that we'll see anything). Forecast calls for partly cloudy or cloudy the rest of the week and no chance of rain. It's been a long time since we've been this dry!! For months we couldn't go 2 days without rain.

When will this pattern break? :o

Southerngale, there is a chance of thunderstorms across central Florida Wednesday through Friday, especially Thursday from the developing system over Texas. This feature could easily have rainfall with it for you as it moves toward my area in the next one to four days.

For all the Houston area residents, it looks like yall could get some rain later this afternoon as the storms to the west of houston look to be holding together. I don't think we'll see any appreciable chance of rain in southern louisiana until this weekend. Another week of this and we'll be in a moderate drought!

The storms have been developing to the west of Houston this afternoon. Southern Louisiana isn't that far away, really; and Louisiana is between Houston and Tampa. :)

The storms are to our north - will miss the Houston area including me - they seem to be moving more northeast. Heading to East Texas and Lousiana - maybe Shannon (furluvcats) will see something if they hold together.
