well this week started out hot and humid we had the remains of our friend Dennis come through here brining humid air with it then thursday we had a cold front move through sparking a few nasty thunderstorms here in the Portland area (Maine). Then Friday was cooler with afternoon severe Thunderstorms in some areas of the state. Portland had one go just north-east of us. but I hear that we are going to be back up into the 90's next week
so I guess I should enjoy the cool air well I can! lol

I could probably summarize what the weather will be like in my area by saying that it is now 7am and the temperature is ALREADY in the lower 80s!
Bascially, Heat Advisory in effect until 4am Sunday (probably will be extended into the daytime hours Sunday). High temperatures in the 100 to 105 degree range, with heat indices of 105 to 110 degrees by afternoon!
Tonight, the temperatures will only "cool" to about 80!!
Sunday, it will again be hot, with temperatures topping out between 99 and 103. Heat index will be with us too! How lovely!
Monday, it will still be hot, but not as hot as Saturday and sUNday with temperatures ONLY reaching the upper 90s. Cold front comes through Mon. night with, gasp, maybe some storms. Then, Tuesday, we fall into the lower 80s for HIGHS!!!
Break out the gloves, snow shovels, and window insulations, because baby, it is going to be cold outside Tuesday!

HOT!!!
Upper St. Bernard Parish
Heat Advisory:
Issued at: 8:00 PM CDT 7/24/05, expires at: 10:00 PM CDT 7/25/05
heat advisory in effect until 7 pm cdt Monday
The NWS in new orleans has issued a heat advisory for southeast louisiana and southwest, south central and coastal mississippi through Monday.
High temperatures in the mid to upper 90s Monday combined with high relative humidity values will result in dangerous heat index readings around 110 degrees Monday afternoon. In addition, temperatures overnight will not offer much relief from the heat with lows only falling into the upper 70s in most locations with some coastal areas remaining in the lower 80s.
A heat advisory is issued when high humidities are expected to combine with hot temperatures to make it feel like it is 105 degrees or greater. Persons in the advisory area are advised to avoid prolonged work in sun or in poorly ventilated areas. Also, keep plenty of liquids on hand and try to stay in an air conditioned environment.
Children, the elderly and people with chronic ailments are usually the first to suffer from the heat. Heat exhaustion, cramps, or in extreme cases heat stroke can result from prolonged exposure to these conditions. Friends, relatives, or neighbors should check on people who may be at risk.
