Ok, this is probably a premature call, and I'll probably end up wrong, but I've been looking long and hard at shortwave IR imagery (big mistake, lol), and it seems that Franklin's low and mid level circulations are splitting..

Clearly there is a spin that is nearly stationary, or perhaps even drifting slightly southward. But if you look closely, it also seems that there is another circulation on the NE edge of the convection, following the low level steering flow also clearly seen on IR. The farther north circ is the low level one, while the stationary one is the mid level circ. The NHC mentioned this occurring in their past few discussions, but that it would happen later in the period. I know it's not too wise to make a call like this without daylight visible imagery, but I figured I'd stick my neck out for once. Is anyone else seeing what I'm seeing?
Is Franklin already splitting?
