ya I agree. convection has increased steadily in the past couple of hours... I think the important thing about the recon obs will be whether they find an eye

Technically, that is the case I suppose since that is what was in the advisory. However, 1001 millibars is what recon found on their last pass last night.

Where are you looking at? That is a reading of 1001 mb, which is the lowest recon has reported in the storm.

BTW, that reading is not from the center, but from just outside of it, which tells me that the pressure is lower than 1001 mb in the center of the storm.

Definitely some intensification this morning...

The winds are calm which normally means its near the center. Or close to it.
