Franklin Forecast #3: Gone with the wind

EXPERIMENTAL HURRICANE FORECAST
TROPICAL STORM FRANKLIN
NJN WEATHER CENTER
455 PM SUN JULY 24TH 2005

Tropical Storm Franklin is being read his last rights this hour as he is weakening and down to 50mph. This doesn't shock me any and makes me wonder why I forecasted a possible Cat 2 near Bermuda.

Franklin will continue to weaken for the simplest reasons. He is being affected by cooler water and a trough that is influencing his trek to the eneast..

Franklin will most likely die slowly, but not be a threat to anyone and remain out at sea. Even missing Bermuda.

Here is my experimental 5 day forecast on Franklin:
Today: Slowly weakening in the Atlantic. Max Winds: 50 mph
Monday: Continuing to die off. Max Winds: 45 mph
Tuesday: Closest approach to Bermuda. Max Winds: 40 mph
Wednesday: Into the open Atlantic. Max Winds: 30 mph
Thursday: A low with a swirl. Max Winds: 25 mph

Since the center seems to have drifted a little to the south this evening, it will be interesting to see what happens on Monday.

Again, this shift could just be a weak storm and its indecision. Not uncommon.

if its a weak storm, the better the chances of it being left behind by the Trough.....im not willing to concede just yet :)
