Ummm... i don't think so. I think it will do what emily did and pull up at the last second. If it doesn't do that then I think it will gradualy pull up noth of South America.

What about that batch of thunder storms that hit the Windward Islands a couple hours ago. Is that a wave? No one is noticing it, seemingly.

A lot of people's been noticing it. It's just that it's contending with SAL and shear, don't expect much out of it until at least the western Caribbean or GOM.

BTW, is it just me, or does the wave southwest of the CV's look like Frances did when it was just a tropical wave?

Area in the Windwards is part of the big wave that is oriented from SW to NE in a big area of the Atlantic that discussion I posted eluded to.

I thought the b/w pic was awesome. But that infrared just reminded me to go buy more beenie-weenie. And propane. And water. And beer. And candles. And batteries. And.....

ok I've been away since bout noontime... so correct me if I'm wrong but is this basically the current senario?:

Gert and Franklin... forget about them they're gone...the TW over near the Lesser Antilles has run into South America, the wave in the E Atlantic is wicked dry from the African dust... and no others in the Atlantic... however a season's-worth coming through Africa right now...

ok so about the ones coming though Africa... what is the deal with them? predictions???

The wave now emerging from Africa looks quite healthy... Then again I've been fooled many times by vigorous looking waves coming off of Africa that eventually go poof!

Nevertheless, IMO either that wave or the one that's to its west will probably become Harvey in a few days time.

What do we see this morning in that part of the world? Wave now west and SW of the Cape Verde Islands still is there but organization has not improved since last night although it stil is trying to form a LLC it has taken it's time doing so. The parade of waves continues over Africa and that is unchanged from last night.
