Please disregard this thread. I was NOT paying attention to what I was reading. My eyes are tired from tracking storms. :wink:

This is an excerpt from this afternoon's NWS HPC long range discussion.


EXTENDED FORECAST DISCUSSION
NWS HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL PREDICTION CENTER CAMP SPRINGS MD
223 PM EDT MON JUL 25 2005

VALID 12Z THU JUL 28 2005 - 12Z MON AUG 01 2005

MAIN STORM TRACK WILL STAY S OF MOST OF THE STATE THRU THE
PD...WITH CONVECTION FIRING OVER HIER TERRAIN OF THE S. EXCEPTION
WILL BE THE PANHANDLE...WHERE AT LEAST TWO SIGNIFICANT CYCLONES
WILL PRODUCE STEADY RAINS.

It sounds like they're talking about Alaska, but I could be wrong. (The line above what you quoted says "...AK...".)

That is in reference to Alaska, not the lower 48.

That is referring to a couple of lows affecting the panhandle on Alaska.
