Predicting the number that will hit the U.S. is irresponsible IMO.

Why? Its not like people are going to say ok, that's 6, its all over. Its a prediction, JB does it with his little map. I have absolutely no problem with that.

Completely agree dwg. Whether they end up being right or not, I have no idea why someone would say it was 'irresponsible.' That doesn't even compute. A prediction is a prediction. I don't even like Accuweather's tropical coverage outside of Bastardi, but irresponsible? Come again Brent?

I have no clue what I think. This year has already been a record breaker and it wouldn't surprise me if we get all the way through all of the names and use Alpha, etc. (I think that is the way it works) Nothing would surprise me in the tropics.

Particularly since it's implied to be six additional storms to hit the US.

Ok now THAT'S weird. But yeah, I think it's a little strange that they're predicting the number of landfalling storms remaining this season... But hey, it's Accuweather.

They did pretty good. So far we had 5 storms impact the United States (including Wilma), and we still have November and December. I think this forecast might actually verify.
