India Rains

#1 Postby tropicstorm » Thu Jul 28, 2005 10:05 pm

What does anyone think about this record rainfall in India - reported to be 37 inches in just a few hours!! That is just unbelievable - it is the strongest rain in India's recorded weather history. And unfortunately, many people perished. The question is - any correlation to the active Atlantic hurricane season that we are experiencing / expecting?

Do we know if the rains are "massive" everywhere in India, or only if Bombay has had a freak storm?

More heavy monsoonal rains in the last week. I've been to Bombay myself. It is bad enough before any disasterous floods. Nearly 500 dead from flooding in Bombay.
