What ifs

#1 Postby WindRunner » Sun Jul 31, 2005 7:15 am

I just thought that it would be an interesting idea to have everyone place their craziest forecasts and one in a million situations in one place so we can all laugh at them together . . . so if you have any, please share

All of the following posts are NOT official forecasts and should not be used as such. It is just the opinion of the individual poster and may or may not be backed by sound meteorological data. It is NOT endorsed by any professional institution including storm2k.org For Official Information please refer to the NHC and NWS products. This applies to all below posts.

I'd put one up but since there isn't anything going on I have nothing intelligent to say

Meteor Strike in the GOM. Waters superheated, forming a "hypercane" spinning off hurricanes rather than rain bands.

got one - what if 93l strengthened and gained enough latitude to pull 92l in and, after pulling more to the north, strengthened more and together they overcame the Carib shear and continued into the gulf and made landfall over the TX/LA border with the 31 degree water and dragged hurricane winds inland to kansas city, to give the midwest a taste. It would be interesting, though.

i've heard of those hypercanes - they sound like fun

Not to off the wall, but I will predict a Hurricane Ginger type storm. A months worth of waves for Central Florida Surfers :)

A strong category 4 comes through the Florida straights, and slowly moves north up the coastal waters of the west coast of Florida. It hits the big bend and makes a turn to the west following the coast of the panhandle and up the mississippi river.

What if 93l blows up to a cat 5, starts heading more NW and makes a direct hit on the upper keys about a week from now!!! ........

Oh wait a minute, that would totally suck because I am going to be in the keys next weekend huntin' lobsters............

NEVERMIND.

What if 92l and 93l just go away and leave us alone.

What if...the Ice Caps begin to melt and a series of Huge Cold Core Hurricanes (I know, they would not be hurricanes) develop freezing everything North of the Mid-Atlantic. Oh yeah, I was watching that on HBO this morning. (Vague "Day After Tomorrow" reference).

Three hurricanes come together and form one super giant of a hurricane the size of the GOM with winds of 300mph and gusting up to 450 mph. It takes out the whole US.
