Beautiful photos! I love to look at lightening vicariously. IRL, it scares the woo woo out of me and my little dog, too.

Beautiful.

Taking lightning photos here is nearly impossible as we rarely get nice lightning, and lightning during storms themselves doens't occur too often.

I use a digital camera, although it seems that a lot of people like to use actual camcorders. Camcorders mean you have to go frame by frame and take it out to get the image, usually it comes out fuzzy and completely out of focus. That is why I don't like people who do that, lol... It is kind of a way as cheating becuase there is no way you can miss it.

I have a manual setting which is what I use on my camera, you can adjust exposure times and a couple other features that help for clarity and brightness... With these, the solid strikes only occured about once or twice every minute. So I went with a 30 second exposure and captured most of these. The picture with 4 CG strikes in it I was using 15 sec exposure becuase the lightning was much more frequent.

I would also like to note that I did not do any adjustments with my computer on these pictures. Completely original.....

jayson, these pics are excellent! i can appreciate the difficulty it is to capture lightning pics and especially those bearing clarity and good composition. very well done!

Thanks Pawlee! I was able to get this image ealier this morning with a storm that rolled through:

Sun was already rising so it was light out and these strikes were very weak. But, I was amazed that they were so wild, all over the place.
