Annette, I am watching those storms on radar I see there is a Tornado Watch and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for your area. Hopefully nothing too severe occurs overnight tonight. :)

Considering That

#703 Postby Aslkahuna » Sun May 11, 2003 1:39 am

here at 4500 ft elevation well to the south of the White Mountains, it's nip and tuck for fruit trees every year (this year will be very poor for Plums, excellent for apricots, good for nectarines and zip for cherries here at the house), it's a pretty forlorn hope of getting a good fruit crop every year at 7000 feet. It may in fact be too cold for most fruit trees where you are at. I've got some photos of the VLA but unfortunately they are not posted on my homepage right now so no URL for posting here.

Good Morning AND "Happy, Happy Mothers Day!" ladies! Hope you make today a VERY special day for them gentlemen, they deserve it

WOW.....it's COLD again, typical for this time of year, sitting at 25.7° at 0545 MST. Yesterday was BEEEE-UT-E-FUL, high of 69° at the house with NO WIND :D We could use some moisture, God it's dry already, spent the better part of the afternoon watering everything, the wind burnt a lot of stuff to a crisp!

Off to Flagstaff here in a little bit, Michelles *evil twin* :grrr: flew in from Calif to see their mother, we're gonna meet them in Flag for lunch, what's that one song by Eddie Rabbit, "Driving my Life Away!" Ah Well, it's Mums day, RIGHT?! 8-)

BTW Steve, actually, fruit trees do REALLY WELL up here, out of the last 19 years in the same area here where I'm at, I've had apples, plums and pears all but 4 years, this being one of those years!

Happy Mother's Day to all here at the Front Porch. It was a very warm one yesterday here in Texas - reached a high of 92 degrees. Broke down and put the A/C on. There was no breeze later in the evening. This morning woke up to cloudy skies and a better chance of rain -we need it.

I got part of my mother's day gift - yesterday my daughter went shopping with her friend down the street and she got me necklace and earrings - she had to give it to me last night - she couldn't wait. I am wearing them as I type this.

Everyone have a great day and stay safe and see ya'll later.

Hope all the Mothers here had a great day!

My neice and I descended on my Mom's house
for lunch! I bought it, so, there was none of that
Sunday afternoon dish-washing going on! :P

Been a great day to sit on the porch in my
hammock chair - sunny, cool breeze, and,
lower humidity!

Man oh man, temp 65º, DP 44º, wind NW gusting to 23, windows wide open! This is the 1st day in almost 2 weeks that NWS hasn't shaded my county with some vibrant color. Feels good. 8-)

Hope all the moms out there are enjoying their day. :D

Happy Mother's Day!

The storms were a nice sight to see last night. A severe Tstorm warning was out for Southern Winnebago County...our county (Menasha is on the Extreme NE tip of Calumet County, Extreme SW tip of Outagamie Countyand Northern Edges of Winnebago County...on the Northern Shores of Lake Winnebago). Tons of Lightning shows to go around...along with the rainfall, thunder and wind).

Today, on the other hand has been a rainy and windy day. Scattered showers all day long circulating around the Low Pressure. As for the winds...OMG...you'll get blown over if your not paying attention! I had fun driving on HWY 41 coming up to Green Bay...the wind was perpendicular to most of the highway! Currently NW27mph, Gusting NW 37mph!!! :o :o :o

On a happier note, tomorrow is the OFFICIAL LAST day of classes!!! Thank goodness...all I have left are finals.

Good evening everyone. Hope you all had a great Mother's Day. :D I did.

Twas a nice and mild (for once :P ) day here in southern California. We hit the low 70s :D under sunny skies :D .

For Mother's Day, I first went to a family BBQ; then I helped my mom fix a couple of things that she couldn't reach. Then we ate dinner and relaxed for the rest of the time.

Hope you all have a great week. Joshua

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

School starts (elementary, junior high, high school and college/universities) starts the Wednesday after Labor Day in New England, too and get out in mid June (colleges in May). Here in Florida they start in early August and I believe in most regions of the country, classes begin in mid to late August and finish up in mid May.

It is currently in the upper 70s here watching the cold front final making it down toward the Georgia/Florida border, however the current forecast maps aren't showing much thunderstorm activity with it, although some rainfall is possible in southeastern Texas with that portion of the frontal boundary.

Rain chances are higher than they have been... if a good enough line moves through most areas will at least see something from the feature. :)

I hope everyone has a "Happy Monday."

Happy Mother's Day to all :)

We had a nice, warm sunny day here. We went to breakfast, did some shopping and Brian and the kids cooked a wonderful dinner for me. We talked on the phone to our moms....grandmothers, etc... Very special day!

OK, so I bragged about my deep dark, tropical tan, and am paying or it today....I started the neasty peel...ewwwwww

We took 14 rolls of film into Sams today....when I say pictures are coming...I mean it! lol

Hope everyone enjoyed their day!!! We did the usual family celebration at the inlaws. Had GREAT FOOD and a fun time together.

So much for the rain in SE TX!!!! It didn't happen here, but there were storms N of Houston about 35 miles this am. They slid off east to LA. NOw the "cold front is through and the temp is down to 77º!!! Woohoo!!!NOT!!!!! At least the humidity is down to 66%!! Much less muggier!!!

Looks like we'll get a rest of at least 3 or 4 days before we have to worry about sever weather again. WHAT A WEEK IT WAS!!!! And all I did was sit and watch and worry, while others EXPERIENCED IT!! I am SO GLAD ALL OF OUR FRIENDS ARE OK!!!

EVERYONE HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEK!!!

This week is already starting out better than last. At 42º this morning, it is slightly too cool to stay out here on the Front Porch for long. I have a final this morning so I better go get ready.

Everyone have a great Monday,
Garrett

Just a note

#719 Postby azskyman » Mon May 12, 2003 7:55 am

Hi...just a note from Illinois..to let you know I'm still here even after winds continued above 30 mph - to 50 mph- much of Mother's day.

Will be flying back to Phoenix on Wednesday.

Look forward to catching up on the boards.

Hope all is well... It has been a nice trip full of family and friends and laughs and good eats.

Was planning on visiting my cousin this morning who lost her dad (my mom's youngest brother) just about 3 weeks ago...but my last remaining uncle passed away yesterday morning just blocks from the church Kathy and I were attending for Mother's Day. Funny..we heard the sirens go by but did not realize they were on their way to his house.

When aunts and uncles reach their 80's, these things are expected. Still...that is the last of my mom's immediate family...and for the first time in my life I woke up this morning without anyone in her family somewhere on this earth. Kind of a quiet emptiness...you know.

Well..there are plenty of good things to celebrate on this trip too..and on these boards as well. Good luck and best wishes to all of you taking finals or starting internships or just moving on with life.

C Ya online when I return to Phx.

Have a safe trip home, Steve. Sorry about your uncle. It is sad when an entire generation of family reaches that age. Saying goodbye happens all too often.

All the best on your finals, Garrett and Shannon. You'll do great. Summer break is almost here for ya!

Open those windows David. Won't be long before those DPs start creeping up again.

Welcome home Furluv! Time to break out the aloe.

Hope you get some rain soon Tom. My mom in Tampa says everything is very dry and crispy down there.

Have a great day! (even though it's Monday :D )
