Eastern Atlantic Tropical Summary - EATS OUT on August 2, 2005

<img src="http://www.diamondheadweather.com/eats20050802.jpg">

Obviously, the story for the Eastern Atlantic continues to be extremely dry
air and Saharan dust. This has effectively put a lid on tropical development
in a large portion of the Atlantic basin.

Two tropical waves are moving westward across the Atlantic, with no
development expected from either.

A large upper level low persists well to the northwest of the Cape Verde islands.

I do not expect tropical development in the eastern Atlantic in the next
two to three days.

those folks in the islands and along our coasts have the SAL to thank for the recent lull.
