Eastern Atlantic Tropical Summary - EATS OUT on August 4, 2005
<img src="http://www.diamondheadweather.com/eats20050804.jpg">
The dominant feature today is Invest 95L, which to me already appears
to be a tropical depression. There is good outflow in all directions except
to the north, where dry air and Saharan dust continue to dominate.
I do believe that the NHC will upgrade 95L to a tropical depression today,
and a tropical storm within the next 36 hours. Conditions are favorable
as this system moves westward, and I expect it to develop into a
hurricane within 48-72 hours. By 96-120 hours, this will likely be a 100KT
hurricane.
The good news is that all of the models take this system well north of the
islands, and recurve it out to the open Atlantic. That will make this one
fun to watch!
The pesky ULL near 30N 40W still persists, but will not develop into a
tropical system.
