This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

look off the east coast and off the Bahamas. Is that beginning to work down to the surface?

It is an ULL with some mid-level convection maybe? :)

The radar echoes on the west coast of florida are showing some real weak circulation moving slowly east with lots of thunderstorms.
Pressures are not very low though.

Perhaps that east coast ULL moving north around the bermuda ridge will draw the surface low across Florida?

From the afternoon TWD:

A MIDDLE TO UPPER LEVEL CYCLONIC CIRCULATION CENTER...WHICH USED
TO BE IN THE NORTHEASTERN AND EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA AND WHICH
EVENTUALLY MOVED NORTHWARD...NOW IS NEAR 29N72W. MIDDLE TO UPPER
LEVEL CYCLONIC FLOW AROUND THIS FEATURE COVERS THE SOUTHWESTERN
NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN NORTH OF 20N WEST OF 67W. THE FLOW TO THE
SOUTHWEST OF THIS CYCLONIC CENTER LEADS RIGHT INTO THE EASTERN
GULF OF MEXICO UPPER LEVEL RIDGE.

and this was the mention of it yesterday

A MUCH MORE SIGNIFICANT FEATURE IS BARRELLING
NNW THRU THE W ATLC...A POWERFUL MID/UPPER LOW NEAR 22N71W
MOVING NNW 15 KT. COMPUTER MODELS SUGGEST THIS LOW WILL
CONTINUE DEEPENING THROUGHOUT THE ATMOSPHERE WITH A SURFACE
TROUGH NOW EVIDENT W OF THE LOW FROM HAITI TO 25N74W. HOWEVER
NO DEVELOPMENT IS LIKELY DUE TO THE STRONG MID/UPPER LOW'S
PROXIMITY.

nope... just an upper level low... if it sits for sometime, it could work its way to the surface.. we will see

On water vapor imagery it is clearly visible, but on the visible satellite loop it really isn't showing much. Looks to be upper to mid level. It would be nice to see it become a surface low. It would make the surfers along the Florida east coast happy! :D
