Skeetobite Maps - Nearing completion

#1 Postby SkeetoBite » Sun Aug 07, 2005 8:58 pm

We're plan a TON of free maps and content that folks can distribute anywhere they like.

We're almost done with our models maps and new track maps (incorporating nearly all of the Storm2k user feedback). We will be including the forum code necessary to place a thumbnail in any forum site with a link to the full size image. This should help with the load times in the forums.

A great number of images you will find at the new skeetobiteweather.com will include forum code you can cut & paste for use in public forums. The images just can't be altered and the forums must be free to the public.

The model maps are generated automatically, but we have a "throttle" on them so we can continue auditing the maps prior to the release of the new site.

Examples:
(rough draft of real time data with some proprietary content disabled)

Harvey

We encourage the use of these maps as we continue "tweaking" them, linked images will automatically inherit any new formats we apply.

We will announce the launch of the new site on Storm2.org. Thanks to everyone for their feedback on this project.

Oops... I almost forgot!

We signed an agreement last week with McGraw Hill Publishing to include some of our 2004 maps in a college textbook that goes to press this fall.

We're obviously very excited about the success of these maps and hope to continue providing this valuable service to you folks for a long time to come.

Congratulations on the recognition which I hope pays off a few bucks down the road. I'll let BullDawg at Saintsreport.com know to give you a shout when there is threatening activity.
