Will Harvey recurve around the High?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Will Harvey recurve around the High?

#1 Postby HouTXmetro » Mon Aug 08, 2005 12:29 pm

It appears to be riding around the periphery of a High. Notice the Southeastern turn near the end of the NHC track. Has a storm ever did this?

It's possible, but not very likely. Too far north.

Aside from Alberto,
How about Danny in 2003? It didn't restrengthen, but it went around.

Felix in 1988, extratropical but it went around. http://www.weather.unisys.com/hurricane ... /track.gif

I think it will curve around and that would be cool. I think it will either be a big loop or it's getting lucky

Dont worry about a thing. Everybody is gonna be well covered, provided Harvey does a loop.

Harvey can try, but the next trough will pick him up and shunt him into Europe. The end track will probably have something of a V-dip out there.

I like BAMM's (dark green one) track for Harvey. Hit the nearest Azore at 72 and 96 and shoot NW to 120.

Pretty unlikely IMO. Harvey or whats left of him will soon be touring Europe.
