#1 Postby Anonymous » Wed Aug 10, 2005 12:13 pm

Is it me, or is Irene looking like the classic example of a storm about to swing back west?

Irene the one and only,
she has been by herself
teaching us day and night
who rules this world:
mother nature and God.

Don't know what swinging is involved, since it's been moving west since yesterday evening.

I do think the track is likely to stay left of the forecast track for a while.

Well...swinging is not the word, fanning out to the west is the word.

I dunno what you are trying to imply but those 2 were nasty storms!! Especially that darn Floyd that scared everybody in South Florida into a near coma and then gave us the classic "weakness in the ridge that turned the storm northward towards NC". Ahhhh soooooo often I heard that phrase turning into a weakness in the ridge.....

No it's shear caused by a ULL to the SW...makes it look like it is moving NW but it is still heading W.

Most likely is a turn WNW, and then NW. Look at the infared loop, and it seems to already have a slight North of West tendency.

Actually, I really don't buy the NW scenario, I think it WNW or West.

I never said replay of Andrew. I think GA/SC might get this.
