Eastern Atlantic Tropical Summary - EATS OUT on August 11, 2005

This is starting to be like one of those songs that gets stuck in your head
and won't leave. You know what I'm talking about.....

CALLING GLORIA!!!!

I GET KNOCKED DOWN, I GET UP AGAIN....

Yes, the little guys are still protecting their incredibly dry turf, and
I don't expect that to change significantlly anytime soon. They are
making sure that none of the three waves crossing the Atlantic
will become tropical cyclones in the next 48-72 hours.

THe one near the Cape Verdes isn't too bad, IMO. Good summary, though. How long will the Dry Air last?

Donna - glad you like the updates, with a bit of humor mixed in. :D

Hink - no idea - I don't think there are too many predictors that
we can count on for the SAL/dry air. The MJO *should* become
more favorable in a coupld of weeks, but for now, the dry air
is the big winner.

That one near the Cape Verde Islands looks impressive now. It will be interesting to see if it falls victim to the dry air.

After seeing a TD (irene) over the last couple of days on satellite, that one near CV should be a TD, too!
