Speaking of maps

#1 Postby hurricanetrack » Thu Aug 11, 2005 10:51 pm

We at HurricaneTrack.com have a nice little JAVA map that shows the forecast positions over a hi-res SST map. We use the map from the NAVO site- which is based in MS I think. Anyway, the map itself is not very wide lat/lon but you can see the forecast plots of Irene coming in to the east side. Move your mouse over the dots to see the time periods pop up. Notice all the warm water all over the place on the map. Even down the road when more storms and hurricanes venture on to this map, look at all the fuel available in there. Lots of 29s and 30s.

Great product there Hurricanetrack guys!

Just FYI, I'm a Sprint PCS Field Engineer... Love how you guys push the Air Card... Wait till you get your hands on the EVDO Air Card... Has an external antenna MMCX connector, so you can use the truck roof for a ground plane... Much better RSL that way. And once we get that high speed network stretched across the Carolinas', you guys will be screamin' with data!

Pop by and say hello sometime. You'll see me on the coast workin' recovery if we get anything this year... was on your heels all over Florida last year working recovery efforts...

Take care!
