west movement

would someone please who knows what they are talking about go to the nhc site and watch the water vapor is Irene going west or am i looking at it all wrong. please give me an answer

11AM 28.3N 66.8W

Thats .7N and 1.4W thats WNW to a T.

well last night for the first four hours it moved NNW, we called it a wobble, then after that it became a trend, now we are on four hours of western movement, so i think it may be becoming a trend

they still say nw i dont see that but hey they are the experts so i guess it is just a wobble

They take the average on a 12 hour run. I think. So it could be going WNW but they would still call a NW till they have a 12 hour average

They generally use a smoothed average when the give a direction of motion. That has the virtue of avoiding jumping at every wobble, but will lag behind any real change of direction.

so you see west also? maybe i am looking at the whole storm and they are looking only at the center which i have not picked out yet can someone help me find that

well it is not moving pure west, it is still moving north of west but not the NNW it was 12 hours ago or the NW they say in the advisory

it's definitely moving W now about 270-280...I just checked out the water vapor loop and I don't see it moving N and NE longterm as the NHC shows. There is a highly zonal flow to the north of it and no troughs to push it NNE...

this is going to get interesting. Stayed tuned Georgia to NC :eek:

Easterlies are picking up in SE FL. I noticed this last night and this morning. The ridge must be building in

Boca Forcasting is one thing but just because the ridge is building in in out neck of the woods dont mean its building in 900 miles to our NE where Irene is...
