What Was The Most Impressive Hurricane on Imagery?
Which hurricane do think was the most impressive-looking hurricane based on satellite imagery and how well the storm was organized/how strong?
For me, I'd have to say Isabel in 2003. Isabel - during most of her strongest periods - had a very well-developed eyewall (indicative of the most powerful, best-organized {or "classic"} systems), good outflow (necessary for development) and a doughnut-shaped eyewall (also often a key element of the strongest, toughest systems - e.g., Andrew in 1992 as well). Isabel was also in a favorable area for development and developed at a good pace. For these reasons, I think Isabel was one of the best "classic" hurricanes although there have been many others worth considering.

I'd have to give a mention to Allen in 1980. It was VERY large (the cloud structure covered almost the entire GOM) and very impressive.
As for the ones on the list, Isabel was one of the most impressive.
Edit: I was about 2 mintues too late, jax. Story of my life.

I listed Donna because I saw an image of her. Also, based on info on Donna as an impressive hurricane, I included her. Sorry if you may think I'm wrong, or if I am...
Thanks for telling me, though!
I believe the imagery you've seen was radar.

Look familiar?
Regardless, it still was an impressive system...
