Looks like a pattern which we became familiar with in the winter of 2003 is making yet another appearance as a cold air damming scenario looks to set up shop once again - this time in the Mid-Atlantic region ...
Temperatures look to range from 45-55 in NC/VA/MD as a decent strength high in Eastern Canada wedges down the east side of the Appalachians yet once again. Further to add to this, a diabatically enhanced wedge (rain/precipitation) may help make this wedge last this weekend ... not exactly what I would have pictured for the middle of May.
Cold air damming scenario in store this weekend for Mid-Atl.
