If Joe Bastardi is correct, looks like the Carolinas are in for a hurricane mid to late next week

I assume you are talking about TD 10? That's 7+ days out...way too early to say for sure...if anything it is looking like a track into the Bahamas and over S. Florida at this point....but still too early to say.

Certainly a possibility ...

I haven't looked at last night's Euro, but the previous runs had a ridge setup that would likely take Jose if he forms north through the Bahamas and up to the Carolinas.

As usual, it's all timeing ast to how far the ridge extends when the system gets into that region. Certainly it might be strong enough to push it across Florida, but I'm not sold on that idea by any means.

It's all a waiting game at this point.

Definitely a waiting game. If 10 does come back, could be an upper East Coast storm, East Fla, West Fla, or Gulf Coast. Who knows at this point. We'll have to wait and see . . . . as usual

Here's the 7 day frame from last night's Euro run (SLP & 500mb heights)

Excuse the width of the graphic - I wanted to show the monster Atlantic ridge and the system under it at about 15N - 18N and 45W - 50W.

Whatever is left of TD10's remnant is east of northern Florida, heading north.

with the number of systems that have already recurved its a growing concern for me that the ridge is not as strong as last year and that the storms are on a recurve pattern instead of a slam into Florida pattern.I am concerned because sooner or later that ridge will set up just far enough west that it will bring one POSSIBLY into the carolinas.I don't usually like JB's forecast(hypecast) but i have to say its concerning but only time will tell so lets all sit back and enjoy the rest of the season.

Showing a low in the same area east of the Lesser Antilles -- we'll be looking at the same setup in a week?

I'm thinking the ridge will bend in stronger, and the trough will not come near enough southward, or quick enough, and that South Fla and then possibly the GOM

like everyone said it's really early, but I'm not convinced that this is not gonna be an east coast storm.
