94L better organized

#1 Postby Vortex » Mon Sep 05, 2005 5:02 pm

Looking at the latest satellite imagery 94l is becoming better organized. The broad center appears to be consolidating a bit more and his highly visible on the vis this afternoon. The Llc based on surface and Hi-res imagery appears to be about 75 miles E of Miami and 60 miles S of Freeport in the bahamas. I expect deep convection to fire over or near the center this evening. This should also bring in locally very heavy rainfall in bands from Jupiter south to Miami. GFS 18z brings the system very near the se florida coast in 48 hours. Either way it's not going to move much and the potential for flooding rains along the Florida east coast may become a problem. At this point if we do see development I think a 35-55 mph storm is possible anywhere from Miami northward...

I agree. One more thing this reminds me of MS Katrina a little. The difference is Katrina was farther away from the coast. Other wise I agree...

This is a interesting hurricane season we got going on here.

Do I see a spin? Our local mets are saying we will keep a close eye on it!

Hmmm, going against the NHC discussion and forecasting the diurnal blossoms of convection. Daring, yet not. I don't doubt that it will eventually develop, I am just reading the TWO.

There was a lot of forecasted rain for today, but the actual amounts were pretty pathetic. I went running on the beach, thinking it was going to remain cloudy, but I had to cut it short because the freaking sun came out.

I don't like this one. It is like deja vu all over again.

According to Ed Brandon [Houston met], it's actually supposed to head inland and move North over FL. Then again, Katrina was supposed to do that too.
