People can still only enter/exit the city from the west, correct. The levees are still significantly compromised, correct. They're taking a chance a REALLY big chance. Besides contaminated drinking water and issues with that there are going to be a ton of injuries from people trying to clear trees and their property. The hospitals are going to have a difficult time dealing with this.

Frankly if I had a damaged home in that area, i'm going to family members in NYC and staying there thru winter and early 06, and then thinking of rebuilding or moving later.
