me neither

I know...Rita would finish what Katrina started...the complete destruction of SELA

I hope this doesn't sound heartless but I would much rather this hit LA which is already damaged and people evacuated than to cause more massive damage in TX where the evacuees are. I can't imagine how those children would react if they had to be evacuated somewhere else. Where in the world would they all evacuate to?
I don't think that sounds heartless at all. Best place for it really if it's going to end up being a monster is right where Katrina hit. Major population center already evaced , loss of life would be minor at most. Devestation keept somewhat undre control due to there be less to destroy. Heck and this will sound heartless , if NOLA get smashed by a cat5 perhaps it will cause enough destruction for peopel to finally wake up to the bad idea it is to rebuild a city there , but thats just my opinion.
TX has opened it's arms big and wide , if any state deserves a little help from the man up stairs it's to keep those warm hearted good people out of danger at least this year.
WRONG! There are people in the areas that were affected by Katrina. Those people are trying to put their lives back together. The LAST thing they need is another storm. It makes my blood boil to think there are people in this country (and on this board) that ignorant enough to think that the best place for Rita to strike would be where Katrina struck. Imagine how you'd feel in your whole world had just been ripped apart by a monster named Katrina. Three weeks later another monster was brewing and setting her sights on your area. You are back at what's left of your home trying to salvage what memories you can and someone on a bulleting board says "the best place for this storm to hit would be where Katrina hit". Bet your blood would boil too

Thank you timNms...................I agree with you wholeheartedly. By the way, we here in Louisiana do pray for our Mississippi & Alabama neighbors every single day as we struggle for the same normalcy that your victims are striving for. Furthermore, folks on this board need to know that Most of our Louisiana evacuees are still right here in Louisiana. Texas was generous after a federal mandate. I am in SW Louisiana and we have thousands we are caring for so anywhere in Louisiana would be devastating for these victims and many more.

Yeah that's what I think too, Texas just cannot get a hurricane with all the evacuees there, LA, MS, FL, and AL are still recovering from Katrina, there is just no good place for this hurricane to go. We cannot use another hurricane in rough times like these, and I cannot fathom what the United States would do if another >10 billion dollar hurricane came in the GOM, and not only caused >10 billion in damages, but destroyed all the oil platforms. Whether you are in the path of the storm or not, you will be affected. Whichever way you cut it, we cannot cope with another major landfalling hurricane.
So it does not matter if it hits NO again or Houston, the results will be catastrophic no matter which way you cut it.
On a lighter note, these quotes are really hypnotizing.
