If the storm hits there NOLA would still get very nasty weather being on the East side.

I think we should wait till she crosses Florida before trying to narrow down landfall #2. At this point you might as well throw a dart at the gulf coast.

Ok, I'm asking this on behalf of all South Floridians.....

When there's a shift in the model and you're starting a thread or renaming a thread about it, can we PLEASE specify "xyz moves north/south for 2nd landfall" or whatever? My heart literally stopped a sec when I saw the title of this thread. A northern shift for us here makes a huge difference.

Homestead should see some nasty weather later tonight as it appears some energy from Rita is now spinning outward from the center and heading towards S. Florida

It's kind of like aiming a gun, back and forth, and until the trigger is pulled do you know if you were to the left or right.

Here's the 18Z GFS for 114 hours out, which I assume is what the original poster is talking about. I'll be more interested in the 0Z run since it's not off-hour.
