Forecast 7:

Track continues to remain the same; intensity is upped to accommodate this rapid intensification currently underway--which should probably stop in the next few hours; at least temporarily. This brings Rita onshore as a Category 3 hurricane after intensifying to a Cat 4. Nonetheless, the hurricane will be powerful and dangerous.

i will have to differ. the pro forecasters still have it going on the same path, but i am noticing a little bit of a northward movement and a little fluctuation in forward speed. at least that's what i see.
